Notes on YouTube Videos

Notes on a video are only useful if they lead you back to the right moment. On any YouTube watch page, the histre popup and sidebar show a Save current time button. Press it and the current time of the video, such as 12:34, is dropped into your note as a link. Write what you want to remember next to it and carry on watching.

Jump back with a click

Each saved time is a link. Click it in the extension and the player on the page seeks to that moment. The links are ordinary YouTube links with the time built in, so they also work from the histre web app, from a shared collection, or from the note pasted anywhere else.

Play a collection

Add videos to a collection and the collection page grows a video player with a playlist. Watch the whole set in order without leaving histre, with your notes for each video beside it. Close the player and the collection looks like any other.

Permissions

The first time you save a timestamp, the extension asks for access to youtube.com so it can read the player's clock and move it. That is the only thing it does on the site.
