Automatic Tags

Tags are only worth having if adding them is effortless. histre helps in two ways: it suggests tags while you write, and it can tag bookmarks on its own.

Suggested tags

When you save a page, the extension shows the tags you have used recently and the ones you use most, one click away. The suggestions come from your own tagging, so they fit how you already organize things.

Automatic tagging

Turn on automatic tagging and histre reads each page you bookmark and picks tags for it. It chooses only from tags you already use, plus a short list of common ones, so your tag vocabulary stays yours instead of sprawling. The result is a tag set that is useful for search from day one, with no clean-up session later.

Setup

Automatic tagging uses your own OpenAI account. Connect an API key under Integrations, then switch on Automatically tag your bookmarks. It is off until you turn it on, and it is part of the Pro plan. See pricing.
